Please remember that First in Math is used as a Math Participation grade for the report card and must be completed by Thursday night. I will check every Friday morning. Students must earn 40 points to meet their goal each week! I will check every Friday morning for the 40 points. They will receive a check mark on the grade sheet if they completed 40 points. There will be 6 to 8 checks each nine weeks.
A daily CLASS VIP is generated by the program. In the morning I check who the VIP of the day is and they get to wear the VIP lanyard all day at school. This creates great excitement among the class and a healthy sense of competition.
The grade is computed as follows: Number completed correctly divided by total number of weeks counted.
Lexia
Students must complete a total of 30 minutes of Lexia homework (Friday-Thursday). They will receive an ID and Password in their Purple folder (please keep at home for privacy). Be sure the program has documented 30 minutes of usage. Do not use a home timer. I assign a minimal amount of homework so that students have ample time to work on First in Math and Lexia. These programs are beneficial to the student's progress and are therefore NOT optional. Thank you for understanding the importance of these programs.
